It all started at Industrial Metal Supply, where I landed a job in the warehouse with no prior knowledge of metals or machines. Determined to prove myself, I seized the opportunity to showcase my abilities and eventually earned a promotion to counter sales. However, it was a remarkable encounter with the owner that left an indelible mark on me. One day, as I diligently put away materials, the owner surprised me with a soda and took a genuine interest in my thoughts and ideas for improving the store. This unexpected act of acknowledgment and encouragement profoundly motivated me. It was in that moment that I realized my true calling - to uplift and empower others by leading and supporting a team.With my newfound determination, I dedicated myself to learning every facet of the business and working hard to advance. Through my unwavering commitment and dedication, I earned five promotions, leading to opportunities in five different facilities across various locations. I even had the privilege of opening two branches from scratch, witnessing firsthand the power of vision and hard work.Alongside my professional growth at my company, I pursued a degree in Business Administration, applying the knowledge and concepts I gained from my classes to my roles at Industrial Metal Supply. Finance courses helped me understand profit and loss (P&L) statements, while the study of micro and macro economics deepened my understanding of how economic trends impacted the commodities market. The journey of continuous growth, both in the classroom and the workplace, has been incredibly rewarding. Determined to keep improving, I continue to read books, enroll in classes, and invest in my professional development one day at a time.Today, as I reflect on my journey, I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have allowed me to support and empower others.
