CBS has really strengthened my academic foundation through a profound and broad theoretical knowledge of strategy, leadership and organizing including both more conventional theories and tools as well as newer, social constructivist theories as such. I can, thus, navigate within the dominant management discourse and also incorporate key elements from newer competing theoretic paradigms My work at CBS has also clearly strengthened my ability to challenge the preconceptions myself and others. It is in my view an essential prerequisite in order to truly develop through the analysis and thus creating more and better options. I have also become much more aware that a problem should be analysed from multiple perspectives as there is rarely one single cause, and because the perspective often dictates the possible solutions. My time at the Tivoli Gardens taught me extensively about problem solving in complex situations involving many internal and external stakeholders. Examples include (1) facilitating the development of a common strategy, Growth 2009, through gathering extensive market and consumer data, reviewing internal capabilities to developing a new KPI system, (2) negotiating the termination of an irrevocable contract subject to Japanese law, and (3) obtaining the permission to build the 80 m. high ride Star Flyer initially rejected by the municipally of Copenhagen. Through my work in Parliament, I got an important insight into the political work and strengthened my ability to act in a political context.
