Michael is currently the Financial Services Market Team Leader for PwC Minneapolis overseeing a group of 100+ PwC professionals delivering audit and attest services to Minneapolis/St. Paul-based clients across the financial services industry. Additionally, Michael is a partner within PwC's Banking & Capital Markets Practice specializing in providing audit, attest and advisory services to PwC's clients around the United States with experiences concentrated primarily in the banking, consumer finance and mortgage banking sectors.As an audit partner, Michael has led a variety of audit and attest services to large clients in the banking/capital markets sector of the financial services industry throughout the United States. Additionally, Michael has served as a partner within PwC’s National Consumer Finance Group - a specialty sector of the national financial services banking/capital markets practice unit, which provides audit and advisory services to consumer finance and mortgage banking enterprises around the United States and in certain international markets. Michael's clients have been concentrated primarily in the banking, consumer finance and mortgage banking sectors where he has been responsible for providing external audit, attest (e.g., SSAE 16 engagements, agreed-upon procedures, etc.), internal audit, financial advisory and risk management solutions to his clients. In addition, Michael has provided his clients with controls-focused reviews with all aspects of key governance within the banking industry including the review of the risk management and governance - both internally and externally - around all types of lending activities (origination, funding, servicing, etc.), securities/investment transaction activities, and the related accounting implications. Michael has also been involved with various advisory projects with multiple banking institutions regarding bank acquisitions and/or various regulatory compliance matters.
