Michael is currently on a break from working for an employer and is pursuing personal projects mainly preparing a block of land for a new home build, inlcuding earth works, designing and building a retaining wall and a 25m2 custom steel shed workshop. These projects have provided an insightful learning experience. Performing the full design and build cycle himself has given great insight into optimising the information, drawings and ordering of materials required for such projects.Michael completed the design and build of an electric jet ski, for his final year thesis project as a member of the REV team at the University of Western Australia. Michael keeps life full of challenges, innovation and seeks entrepreneurial opportunities. He is looking to build a team capable of designing and building electric water craft as the world is transitioning from combustion engine to electric motor driven vehicles. Michael worked in Batam, Indonesia near Singapore, representing the owner of a 40m Superyacht. He co-managed the refit of the yacht, overseeing all technical aspects including engineering and compliance.Michael took a break from the Superyacht industry working at Sila Australia, developing a composite refractory ceramic for high temperature, thermal shock and abrasion resistant applications. This project falls under the R&D tax concession and is being undertaken collaboratively with the university of Western Australia.Michael worked at Echo Yachts as a design engineer in Henderson, Western Australia. He was part of the team designing and building the largest infused fibreglass boat in the world, a 46m catamaran 'M.Y. Charley.' This will be the shadow vessel to an 84m tri-hull super yacht under construction at Echo Yachts.
