I was responsible for the integration of security plans into strategic missions, and building the critical policy framework that facilitates operations.Designed and implemented a new security structure for 20 countries in Southwest Asia. Within an unparalleled 5 months, my team was able to deconstruct an outdated, complex security structure, and create a vastly improved security framework. My time at USSOCOM was professionally and personally rewarding. I developed my strategic planning and design skillset, which I have continued to grow and hone ever since.While at USSOCOM, I was selected to develop and co-author the National Defense Strategy for Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD). The national level policy document established a completely new DoD approach to CWMD. In at the ground floor, I was able to define a focused strategy and expand the policy governing the role of special operations within the CWMD mission.I also led the development of the first special operations CWMD strategic plan. The plan identified future operating capabilities through strategy development, and defined the necessary steps to bridge current and future operating requirements. As a result, 90 investment projects were identified for inclusion within the $8 Billion budget. -
Senior Manager Of Operations, Maintenance, And Safety DivisionsUs Navy Dec 2005 - Feb 2008Lemoore, Ca.As an F/A-18 pilot assigned to VFA-22, I also served as the Senior Manager for the Operations, Maintenance, and Safety Divisions. These were three separate and very distinct jobs, but taken together, I was responsible for flight operations, combat preparedness, maintenance, logistics, and risk management of 34 aircrew, 180 personnel, and 12 aircraft totaling $950 Million in capital assets.Dramatically improved the productivity and overall performance of my 180 person unit responsible for maintenance and logistics for a 12 aircraft squadron. During this time, the number of flights completed with no maintenance cancellations increased by 7%, personnel promotion rates increased to 32%, and the department received the highest weapons proficiency inspection score of all 14 Navy F/A-18 squadrons on the West Coast.Developed and executed a detailed pre-deployment training program, designed to improve squadron performance and exceed the Navy proficiency/readiness requirements. The program specifically targeted future training opportunities to maximize aircrew combat capabilities. As a result, aircrew combat qualifications increased 40% within an unprecedented 4 month period.
