Following more than three decades as a banking executive, including 24 years with Atlantic Union Bankshares (formerly Union Bankshares), I have forged a highly successful career spanning all facets of the banking industry.My journey began as a collection manager where I quickly learned the importance of all aspects of lending, before ascending to a high-level position, providing me with a unique perspective on building and maintaining relationships even in the most challenging times. A significant turning point in my career was when I was entrusted with the opportunity to return to my hometown and revamp the local community bank following an acquisition. My mission was to ensure a seamless operational conversion and transition to the new bank. Not only did the bank thrive, retaining its original charter from 1902, but it also expanded from a single branch institution to seven branches, catering to five distinct and separate markets while consistently meeting all profitability and growth targets.I quickly learned that to have success in the banking industry, as with many other industries, you must have the right people doing the right things to carry the mission forward. Building strong, dedicated teams has always been my most valued accomplishment. My journey in the banking world has afforded me the privilege of supporting countless individual clients and businesses in achieving their financial aspirations, goals and dreams. These relationships serve as the bedrock of any financial institution. Banks serve as pillars in many communities, and that comes with the expectation of giving back both personally and professionally.
