Set up, analyzed and purified experiments during the synthesis of custom organic compounds and materials. Worked on multistep projects of varying complexity, timelines, and scales (mg to Kg). Gained proficiency in working with large scale equipment during the completion of several Kg scale projects. Gained experience with NMR, LC/MS, GC/MS, GC, analytical.

Dissertation title: “Robust protocols and challenges in the synthesis of sterically hindered N-Heterocyclic Carbene ligands”. My thesis was centered on the synthesis of N-Heterocyclic Carbene (NHC) ligands of unprecedented steric bulk. My research showed that existing protocols for the formation of NHCs are ineffective for substrates of a certain size..

-Acted as a basic laboratory skills demonstrator for groups of up to 25 students in advanced and introductory organic chemistry as well as 1st year general chemistry courses.-Graded lab reports, tests and exams for organic and general chemistry courses.

-Prepared and presented lectures to five sections comprising 150 people on introductory organic chemistry.
