Profile bio

About Michael Wisecup

I am a committed and driven life long public servant. Following in the footsteps of my parents, a mother with 55 years as a registered nurse and father with 35 years as a public health advisor, I have also dedicated my life to serving others. Throughout my 20 years in the Navy and subsequent time leading in higher education, I remain focused on developing better citizens that can make a difference in the world, both at the local community level and globally. I've developed a broad array of leadership styles, honed on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan, in the interagency halls of D.C., in the classrooms of Mumbai, and on the playing fields of college athletics. Throughout all of this, I have learned the value of developing strong relationships and building networks to achieve uncommon results. For my work with Camp Sunshine, a non-profit located in Maine to provide a retreat for children with life threatening illnesses and their families, I have been fortunate to be recognized by the New England Patriots, Points of Light organization, and named the State of Maine Volunteer of the Year. My wife, Emily, and I reside in Freeport, Maine where we are able to spend quality time with our parents and extended family.

Listed skills include Navy, Military Operations, National Security, Operational Planning, and 64 others.
