• The Leveraged Acquisition Finance (“LAF”) team arranges, underwrites, and participates in leveraged loans which enable private equity firms to complete buyouts, refinancings, and recapitalisations of companies across a wide range of sectors• My duties include: business development/marketing LAF's offering to private equity sponsors and debt advisors/investment banks across the UK and the Benelux and Nordic regions• Analysing lending opportunities introduced by sponsors and advisors, and providing feedback to senior management• Leading our due diligence process for lending opportunities, including evaluating and challenging deal information (e.g. borrower/company management plans and financial/commercial/legal due diligence reports), independent research, identifying risks, and meeting with sponsors, advisors, company executives, and consultants/due diligence report providers• Reviewing legal/loan documentation and discussing deal terms with senior management and our lawyers• Responsible for producing credit applications for deals, including managing multiple credit underwriting deal teams, delegating and reviewing work and providing feedback, and delivering high quality final products on time (including in-depth financial/credit analysis and financial modelling)• Presenting credit applications to the Bank’s Credit committee and discussing deals with them in order to receive credit approval• Overseeing our compliance, loan administration, and funding processes to ensure the timely closing of deals• Managing a portfolio of existing loans, including completing regular credit review papers, waivers, amendments, follow-on debt transactions, and internal reporting• Staffing deal teams and managing the workload/capacity of 12+ colleagues• Training team members and supporting their professional development• Representing LAF, and working with colleagues across the Bank, on strategic and regulatory projects• Representing the Bank at industry/networking events
