My team owns the client facing and advisor facing capabilities that power Vanguard PAS advice offer. We are 90% done completely rewriting our entire portfolio of apps and services to be cloud native in AWS. Very exciting times! During my tenure here, deployments/team have gone up, cycle time has gone down, and resiliency has increased. We have also developed some important new capabilities like a tool called TERS that provides clients recommendations on Roth Conversions, when to take Social Security and draw down strategies. We operate in a full Product owning Team model working very closely with the Advice business that we serve.

Risk Director in Vanguard's IT Risk group which is part of the recently formed Global Risk division. My team is supported Vanguard's CTO, Self-Directed Investors Technology, and Advisory Business Technology IT sub-divisions. We advised senior IT leaders on their top risks and how they can manage them. My goal was to enable the leaders to aggressively pursue their business goals while making risk smart decisions and preventing the realization of any risks that might threaten the business. We were also performing integrated risk assessments of key business processes and their supporting systems working with Risk Advisors supporting Vanguard's Retail and FAS businesses. I leveraged my years of experience managing large IT teams and large transformational IT programs. This was a very different role from any that I've held in the past.

Leading a 150 person IT organization in Vanguard's Retail Systems division organized into Families of Agile Product Teams- Lead $50M multi-year program to migrate all of Retail's workflows to a new cloud based BPM (Appian) platform from a legacy on-prem platform dramatically reducing average handle time and processor training time.- Lead Multi-year program to digitize all incoming paper forms using Intellidox/Docusign reducing NIGO client requests by 50%.- Used BluePrism to automate dozens of back office processes saving over 100 headcount in the back office. - Modernized and scaled numerous legacy systems and reduced on-prem footprint by rewriting them to cloud, migrating to Saas offerings, or outsourcing the entire operation.- Used sourcing partners to move 40% of development offshore to support systems and execute projects reducing overall IT development budgets.

Partnered with Principal of Vanguard's Participant Services Call Center and Education groups to lead their Technology Portfolio. Owned and managed Vanguard's Participant Web site product family as well as supporting their Participant Education tools. Also managed the CRM (Siebel) product teams.- Implemented numerous new capabilities such as Next Best Action based on a participant's account profile and plan rules. This was a behavioral science based set of participant nudges to influence participants to save more and allocate their assets better. - Completely the Participant Education web site into a personalized experience consisting of small short financial lessons.- Delivered numerous CRM enhancements in support of all the Vanguard lines of business.
