- Research, design, prototype, build, test, and implement components/assemblies/fixtures for Class II RT-qPCR Diagnostic Test Systems (capital equipment).- Lead all efforts to research, prototype, build, update, and implement Consumables for sample collection, delivery, and processing within the capital equipment. Create/update parts, component specs, assemblies, fixtures, molds, manufacturing instructions, test protocols, data sets, and motion control sequences as needed. Design parts for machining, sheet metal forming, injection molding, and 3D printing.- In charge of advising Directors/VPs/C-Suite on any particular design’s safety, cost, manufacturability, performance, or flaws.- Direct contract-manufacturing entities and vendors via material selection, manufacturing processes, test methods, and tolerance requirements for designed components.- Perform QC for manufactured parts/consumables and root cause analysis on non-conforming parts/assemblies to determine if failure occurrence is acceptable.- Lead Ultrasonic Weld design and off-site Ultrasonic welding operations for hermetic reaction chambers with deposits of lyophilized reagents.- Train technicians/engineers on manufacturing processes and device history. Create and provide written instructions, procedures, training, equipment, and tools to the team. Review data after it has been collected.- Test and tune motor control systems. Optimize device motor control sequence to decrease run time and improve performance. Test thermal heat transfer and clamp force. Adjust temperature/force profile as needed.- Create various fixtures to test thermal performance, leak rates (fluid and gas), min/max pressure, applied force, and friction.

-Research, design, prototype, build, test, and implement electro-mechanical components/assemblies for novel dental medical-device product development projects (capital equipment). Submit related purchase requests, material requests, and inventory requests.-Led all efforts towards passing Biocompatibility Testing in support of various FDA 510(k) Premarket Notification Submission(s).-Designed and released Biocompatibility test fixtures, a robust controls fixture, comprehensive test procedures, thorough reports, and a shipping procedure (50lb fixtures had to be sent to the test lab and back without damage or contamination).-Created, released, and performed a protocol to collect samples for chemical analysis (GC-MS, HPLC-UV, UV-Vis). Captured results and analysis in a report. Coordinated with the laboratory to conduct chemical analysis.-Supported a sustaining engineering project for a prototype preventative maintenance tool. Created and released the drawing and specifications of the designed assembly. Wrote and performed the V&V protocol then followed up with a report. -Supported a project to implement new sealing technology into the Sonendo GentleWave high-pressure delivery hose. Led Root Cause Analysis research in conjunction with the Complaints team and proposed solutions to replace existing seals.-Led efforts to build out lab for reliability testing.
