I am a US Navy veteran, having served for over 9 years. I have recently graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. I am a leader among my peers, actively assuming leadership positions in class. I work diligently and efficiently, creating a team-oriented working atmosphere. I am currently employed/gaining experience as a Mechanical Engineering Intern working in the Engineering and Planning Department at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.•Proficient with the use of Solid Edge ST6 for CAD by three-dimensional, parametric solid modeling to include individual part drawings, product assemblies and subassemblies, explosions, parts lists, presentation videos and displays as well as fully dimensioned production drafts for manufacturing. •Ability to perform extensive engineering calculations and data analysis utilizing Microsoft Excel, Mathcad, Matlab and statistical software by creating programs, calculation tables and graphs.•Able to use software applications to correlate data from tables and graphs as well as linearize graph data and determine line slopes, etc.•Received extensive training and possess a strong comprehension of complex engineering design topics/calculations to include static analysis, moments of inertia, shape centroids, shear, tensile and compressive stresses, beam bending, column buckling, stress-strain relationships, Mohr’s Circle, and material properties to include yield/ultimate strengths, ductility, percent elongation.•Sound understanding of various thermodynamic principles and tools including steam tables, Mollier chart, ideal gas laws, fluid columns, Carnot/Brayton cycles, potential/kinetic energies, engine thermal efficiency, turbines, pumps, boilers, heat exchangers, flow and non flow work.•Team leader for reverse engineering project to incorporate the research, design, and manufacture of a ratchet wrench and socket.•Project manager for CAD design of a scaled wind turbine for demonstrations.
