About Michel Emery, B.Adm, M.Ed

I am originally from Ottawa, Ontario, and currently live and work in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. Over the past few years, I have held the positions of Education Consultant, Primary & Secondary School Teacher, Department Head, eLearning Coach, and edTech Specialist. I am passionate about educational technology, innovation and professional development. I am often requested to present at STEM conferences, provide professional development to schools, design educational resources, and provide strategic advice to our Department of Education. I also represent Northern Canada on the UNESCO ASPnet Strategic Committee, am a member of the Executive for the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, am a member of the executive of the Canadian Geographic Education Board, and am on the Teacher Advisory Committee of the Library of Parliament.I have completed my Masters of Education Degree in Technology and Learning. I am an Apple Distinguished Educator and a Google Certified Trainer and a Microsoft Innovative Expert. In 2018 I received the Prime Minister of Canada Award for Excellence in Education, the highest distinction for education in Canada. In September of 2019, I was selected as a Canadian Geographic Teacher of the month for the Integration of VR/AR and 360 technology in education.
