Projects have involved infrastructure design and implementation for the sharing and analysis of patient data to improve health care.• Negotiates and tracks budget, reviews/approves invoices, and advises on spending.• Technical writing and editing for colleagues.Accomplishments• Completed program management of 3-year ($8.3 M) and 5-year ($11M) projects to develop a distributed research network that encoded institutional, state, and federal policies to allow queries and statistical analyses on patient data. Projects were completed under budget.• Led efforts to integrate and analyze research for 2 contracts ($315k) with aggressive 2-3 month time frames. These contracts generated technical and non-technical reports that detailed the standards used in collaborative data networks in patient-centered outcomes research, and a comprehensive inventory of 60 existing clinical data networks, patient-powered research networks, and patient registries. Both contracts were completed on time and under budget.
Designed and wrote software to automate parsing and validating of Medicaid files and reporting of errors.
• Oversaw, mentored, and evaluated the academic progress of 8 pre-doctoral Biomedical Informatics students.• Served on committee to recruit and select faculty and students to the program.• Led submission of new business initiative to launch Master’s program (approved byUCSD committee, under review by system-wide committee).• Designed and developed a customized Django app to streamline processes for progress reporting and information tracking of students.
