Migrant Employment Legal Service (MELS) provides a state-wide legal service to address the employment exploitation of migrant workers.As a Community Education Officer, I participated in a 8-week training about employment and anti-discrimination laws and services. Following this training, I engaged with brazilian migrant community in Australia to spread awareness about workplace laws and improve access to legal services.My main activities were:> Developed and delivered information sessions on employment law.> Supported community by providing tailored information and making referrals to relevant services for assistance with workplace issues.> Created a page on Instagram and Facebook and produced content about employment law.

Unions NSW is the peak body for the state’s trade unions. As an intern, I was placed with the Australian Manufacturing Worker's Union (AMWU), that provided me with training and a diverse experience of what it is like to work for a union. Some of my activities were:> Worked closely with Union organisers, going to workplace visits, attending meetings with delegates and workers, and participating on an unfair dismissal conciliation> Helped with administrative support, making calls to delegates and updating spreadsheets> Collaborated in research team to produce a report about just transition to renewable energy> Attended the Delegates Bargaining Course> Collected petition signatures in defense of workers' interests

Themis - Gender, Justice and Human Rights is a not-for-profit focused on gender equality with a mission to improve access to justice and to strengthen women’s autonomy, fighting against racial, social economic and cultural inequalities.During my period there I coordinated the following projects:1. "App Laudelina": development of a phone app to provide legal information for domestic workers. The project was awarded R$650k funding on Google Social Impact Challenge Brazil 2016, and the app Laudelina was downloaded over 10k times.2. "Domestic workers promoting rigths": three-months training program for twenty domestic workers about employment law and available legal services. The project was aimed at empowering these women to enforce their rights.Besides these projects, in my daily routine, I developed activities such as:> Provided free legal advice to women, especially about domestic violence and employment rights> Provided referrals to specialist support services> Liaised with internal and external stakeholders, such as Domestic Workers National Trade Union, Federal Court, and Google Foundation> Identified opportunities and prepared submissions to raise funds from local and international organisations> Supervised and mentored student intern> Prepared presentations and represented the organisation on radio and TV interviews, lectures, and conferences

SAJU/UFRGS is a university based Community Legal Centre that provides community education, legal advice and legal representation for disadvantaged people. I started working as a Legal Secretary and was elected Student Vice-Coordinator. I carried out duties in the administrative area, family law, employment law and conflict’s mediation.Main Achievements:1. Implemented a new service on conflict’s mediation in which I planned, organised and delivered training sessions for volunteers and created a group responsible for providing mediation sessions to the community.2. Assisted in the preparation of an application for a governmental grant (PROEXT 2013) that obtained a R$150k funding for the organisation.3.
