Mashallah News (https://mashallahnews.com/) is an online portal for stories from the Arab world created to flip the narrative about the region away from wars and stereotypes, to focus on less told stories, urban issues, culture, and society. Since its creation, the website grew into a network of over 170 contributors from over 30 cities. I have been a founding member of Mashallah News, in charge of liaising with all team members, building our network, communication, conceptualizing and managing the website’s strategy, setting internal processes, applying for funding, and publishing. Some additional relevant experience: - Actively involved in the editorial, human resources and financial management of the Mashallah News organization. Helped build the website’s digital presence on social media networks.- Wrote, edited, and translated articles. Uploaded articles in English, French, and Arabic on the website using Wordpress.- Coordinated, edited, and published the Mashallah News book “Beirut Re-Collected.” This involved leading a team of more than 30 people to produce two versions of the book, in English and French. I also helped organize the book’s launch and book signings at major book fairs in Europe.- Created exchange programs between journalists based in Lebanon, France and Germany, involving three week-long trainings for each, and content production on storytelling and migration. Tasks were finding participants, coordinating with two other organizations, and conceptualizing the workshops.- Founding member of a collaborative network of independent media outlets in the Arab world, including Al-Jumhuriya, Mada Masr, Nawaat, 7iber, and Orient XXI. The project involves producing in-depth investigations and organizing workshops.- Represented Mashallah News in the media as well as in conferences and panel discussions.
