NEADHVS is dedicated to healthcare volunteer professionals who want to keep abreast of current volunteer management skills which has never been more important than in today’s healthcare environment. Our mission is to be responsive to the critical and changing needs of its members. Through educational programs and networking we continually strive to enhance our abilities in complementing healthcare organization staff so that together we can be respondent to the changing needs of our patients.

The Committee on Volunteers, a specialty committee of the Board, is concerned with the roles, responsibilities, and services of organized volunteers and auxilians, as well as the community perspective they provide for the health care field. The committee supports the AHA mission and policy agenda by its activities in public policy development; participating in AHA grassroots advocacy; providing the Association with the benefit of its community perspective on issues related to the health care field; and serving as the selection committee for the AHA's Hospital Awards for Volunteer Excellence (HAVE Awards).

Our Mission: To advance excellence in volunteer administration by delivering professional certification and advocating ethical practice. Our Strategic Direction: ADVOCATE – Champion the CAVS credential, current certificants, and the profession to ensure quality, credibility and sustainability. UNIFY – Strengthen the field of volunteer engagement by promoting a universal framework for excellence in professional practice. INSTILL – Inspire and encourage practitioners to apply an ethical lens to their work with volunteers. REACH – Elevate global professionalism in volunteer administration by sharing the Body of Knowledge and being responsive to emerging interests in certification. MANAGE – Govern and manage CCVA to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness

Certification Chair. Worked with Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP) and the American Hospital Association's (AHA) Certification Center to develop new version of Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services (CAVS) exam.

Developed and administered programs including before and after school daycare, adult education and parenting classes such as Right Question Project and Megaskills. Worked with Carver Police on the DARE program and through the MA State Treasurer's Office and Mutual Federal Savings Bank on the "Savings Makes Cents" program.Coordinated the parent volunteer program Coordinated the School Linked Services initiative, a grant program administered through the MA Dept. of Education.
