- Laboratory chemist analyzing inbound material and outgoing product within an industrial solvent recycling facility. - Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory equipment daily. - Creates internal and external documentation in the form of certificate of analysis, DOT release paperwork, and laboratory analysis forms. - Complies with all local, state and federal regulations for hazardous material handling and storage. - Regularly perform quality controls to ensure data integrity and isolate process issues. - SOP development for existing lab procedures and external departments. - Conduct vegetation monitoring across several National Parks within Great Lakes Fire Management Zone. - Use strong plant identification skills to determine species level ID of all trees, shrubs, vines, dicots, and monocots. - Utilize taxonomic keys, literature, and compound microscopes to identify unknown plants. - Participate in prescribed burns and wildfire response as a Wildland Firefighter Type 2. - Represent Indiana Dunes National Parks while aiding projects and emergency response to other national parks across the country.

- Vegetation monitoring of permanent plots as part of the Plant Community Assessment Program. - Field botanist leading a crew of technicians to thoroughly assess plant community health including plant diversity, woody growth, component of invasive species, herbivory pressure, and any forest pests or pathogens presence. - Train technicians to perform job duties including collecting forest measurements, how to set up sampling plots, and basic plant identification skills. - Identify all plants to species level and utilize taxonomic keys, literature, and microscopes to determine identification of unknown plants. - Maintenance of herbarium collection, and creating and cataloging new specimens.
