Phoenix Animal Rescue was a volunteer-based animal rescue group that developed connections among community agencies to increase the number of adoptable dogs and puppies saved from euthanasia at county animal shelters. During its 13 years of operation, Phoenix Animal Rescue saved thousands of dogs and puppies, increased awareness of rural shelters, and developed social media outreach for under-represented animal shelters. As the Executive Director of Phoenix Animal Rescue, I created community connections to maximize visibility for rescued dogs from many animal rescue agencies in our area.

As the Volunteer Coordinator for Alachua County Humane Society in Gainesville, FL I developed the volunteer base in all areas of the nonprofit organization including event planning and management, thrift store staffing, and animal care. I increased participation in the foster family volunteer base, enabling the organization to save more animals from the county animal shelter. To provide more resources to our community, I launched the first training program at the Humane Society to teach dogs basic family manners and help dog owners manage their dog's behavior issues.
