Lead the development of all diagnostics contained in the engine control module for product team applications in preparation for vehicle production. Product Teams include:2011- present: Small Gas Engines (including the Volt)2003 - 2011: Heavy Duty V8 Trucks, Full Size Vans, V6 Full Size Trucks, OEMs using V8 Powertrains 1999 - 2003: Flint V6 Passenger Cars and Mini-VansResponsibilities are similar between product teams and include the following:• Chair the Diagnostic Strategist Workgroup. • Release diagnostic calibration parts to production. • Prepare certification documentation and participate in the cert process to obtain certification approval to meet production deadlines.• Create and direct the execution of diagnostic emissions correlation test plans to meet federally mandated standards and GM internal standards. Allocate team resources as necessary to meet timing.• Follow emerging software and calibration issues and negotiate implementation as required. • Negotiate product team participation in diagnostic roll-out timing to optimize both product timing and help the company to meet its regulated roll-out mandates. • Direct product team in development of diagnostics for new hardware. Allocate resources to support development and participate in the development.• Responsible for directing team to ensure that diagnostic requirements are met for 4-corner conditions (hot, cold, high and low barometric pressures). • Train new calibration specialists in GM standardized work procedures as well as requirements mandated by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). • Support verification when manufacturing plants have issues with OBDII • Volunteer for and complete special projects (for example warranty analysis, diagnostic trouble code typing direction for multiple countries).

• Responsible for making sure the specifications for and the performance of the diagnostic algorithms received from Powertrain Control Center (PCC) and Delphi were correct.• Responsible for communication between PCC and the Product Team for many major diagnostics.• Responsible for thorough knowledge of all diagnostics and required to instruct and/or assist calibration specialists in performing their duties.• Collaborated with PCC in algorithm development and calibration guide development for many major diagnostics • Organized and ran the Diagnostic Operation Evaluation for each model year• OBDII lead contact for PCM field issues related to OBDII. • Responsible for supporting team on trips.
