• Responsible for the development and validation of pharmaceutical products, involved in product testing for the evaluation of product capabilities in accordance with cGMP regulations and ISO 9001.• Planning and prioritising my work load in line with client requirements, adapting to deliver effective customer service within restricted deadlines.• Presentation of test reports detailing findings, communicating project progress daily.• Development and validation of new product specific methods requiring problem solving skills, a meticulous approach and a broad understanding of the chemistry involved.• Provide advice and guidance to recommend improvement actions to external customers in order to optimise analysis and ensure the most cost effective product testing is provided whilst adhering to quality regulations and customer targets.

• Responsible for analysing potable water samples utilising a variety of techniques and instrumentation adhering to UKAS, ISO 17025 standards, Drinking Water Inspectorate regulations and strict quality protocols and deadlines.• Played a significant role in UKAS accreditation taking part in audits, validation of methods and reviewing procedures. Developed a new analytical method to identify and quantify taste and odour compounds in potable water samples using SPE-GC-MS/MS.• Responsible for accurately reporting results in a timely manner, critically evaluating scientific data, troubleshooting and the maintenance of equipment.• Manage the labs ordering system, developing cost models, paying close attention to budgets and running cost saving projects.• Additional to my role I was the health and safety deputy, wrote for the water quality newsletter, run the social committee, RSC committee member and a WaterAid Ambassador.

• Responsible for the laboratory enquires help desk requiring strong communications with managers, senior staff and customers where I provided technical support as required. • Writing of clear, concise methods and training procedures demonstrating a high level of understanding of the principles and practice of analytical quality control.• Managed the ordering of consumables for all Welsh Water’s scientific departments. Working closely with managers and sales representatives from all scientific areas to ensure this process is as efficient as possible. This procedure had been implemented and is fully operational.
