I'm a secondary school English teacher with more than 25 years experience in inner-city Liverpool comprehensives. I have taught English language and literature across the age and ability range through years 7-13. I have also taught drama at KLS3 and 4. I have management experience as Head of Faculty, KS3 Co-ordinator and Whole-School Literacy Co-ordinator. I was also lucky enough to complete a secondment as a National Strategy Consultant at School Improvement Liverpool, so also have experience of delivering staff training to a range of different audiences.As well as secondary school English teaching experience, I have also delivered SATS intervention to year 6 students as well as GCSE resits and Functional Skills at Hugh Baird College to adults with additional needs.My strengths include curriculum planning and creating resources. I also have some experience of creating digital resources, having worked for Twinkl for a year as a Secondary English Advisor.Having been recently diagnosed with ADHD myself and spending most of my teaching career working with SEND students, I have a particular interest in neurodiversity and would like to utilise my knowledge and experience in a support role outside of the traditional classroom setting.
