My name is Michelle MacDonald( Thundering Eagle Woman) I am a member of the Ojibway People, currently living on Anishinaabe, Huron-Wendat and Haudenosaunee land. My maternal lineage and ancestors originate from the unceded territory of Wikwemikoong First Nation. As an Indigenous Woman, I have begun to reclaim my indigeneity while understanding that my People, including myself have been impacted deeply by systems of oppression. I firmly believe that every person in every community deserves the opportunities, access, and connections they need to build a good life regardless of their income, the neighborhood they live in, or their social identity. I strive to ensure that everyone in our community has the chance to thrive and achieve their full potential, leaving no one behind.
