After many years in the Corporate world in London, I decided to use my skills and experience to make a difference to people's lives in Africa and the conservation of Africa's stunning natural world, and together with my husband, moved to South Africa 13 years ago to live in rural Zululand. I now live in Cape Town and lead The African Impact Foundation, a non-profit that equips young people in disadvantaged communities to have a brighter future. This is through education, health, gender equality, and livelihood programs so young people can find more pathways out of poverty.My experience in both corporate and non profit spaces includes - change management, leadership and talent development, organisation strategy and development, customer focus, social development, NGO management and volunteer travel. I love hearing people's stories of change, both from the people we assist on our programs and from the interns and volunteers from around the world who get involved with our work. I also love the spark of an idea and working it through and shaping it up into something tangible and exciting... like our gender equality program (called The Girl Impact) which is giving teenage girls opportunities and more confidence for a better future.I also love time with my family and my 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks in the Cape Town beaches and mountains, a bit of running and enjoying food with friends round the braai or at one of the many amazing eateries in Cape Town.
