I currently work with both primary and secondary age pupils. My role varies from supporting the pupil in school, predominantly with numeracy and literacy needs, but sometimes providing motor skills and speech and language support. Sometimes support to schools is provided by training school staff or supporting school to identify a child's needs and implement the correct support required.

Worked with a child, in Y3 until the end of Y6, that had a statement to support their behavioural difficulties.

I supported a Y2 pupil that had temporary mobility difficulties following an operation.

Supported a child in Y6 that had cerebral palsy.

I worked as a volunteer, initially as part of my duke of Edinburgh award, then continued to help out in the school holidays. At the time this was a small parent led organisation that was designed to support families of children with varying disabilities medical and physical. This has grown in to a larger organisation now that is known as the R:ed centre.
