    As the inaugural Director of OJEN's new Department of Capacity Building and Engagement, I oversee a small team in strengthening OJEN's training and participation opportunities for lawyers, post-secondary students, volunteers, and community workers who are doing public legal education and support work with youth in their communities. In the department's first year, we will standardize, update, and strengthen OJEN's internal processes for onboarding and training volunteers; re-imagine and systematize the way we collect feedback from volunteers; establish a monthly PD webinar series; expand OJEN's Justice Education Fellowship program to every law school in Ontario; and publish the Guidelines for Better Legal Workshops, along with free self-evaluation resources that will help anyone who wants to create excellent public legal education workshops to do so.
