My career in Human Resources began over 10 years ago and has spanned across multiple industries and countries. Having worked in South Africa, the UK and now Australia, I can safely say without a doubt that HR is most certainly my calling.Working within the civils, manufacturing/industrial sector and developing HR with continuous improvement methodology through systems, processes and effective output is where I honed my skills. I enjoy collaborating with the blue collared workforce along with supervisors and management within this sector to better communicate and develop as a team is something I have a great deal of experience with. Having said that, I have also managed HR on a national level in the corporate sector and found I enjoyed the challenges that space afforded me, along with the skills acquired in that space. When the COVID pandemic hit it became increasingly important that I shared my expertise and guidance on HR matters with organisations across South Africa, especially at a time when there was so much uncertainty and panic, I wanted to provide stability for businesses and employees alike. I built my consulting firm this way, and it grew from strength to strength along with the clients I serviced. My take-away from the past few years of working for myself is that businesses and industries are continuously evolving. It has become increasingly apparent to me that it is the team dynamic and not the individual contributor that determines the factor of success. Holding myself accountable to my core values is important to me, and this means that integrity, passion and commitment are ever-present in all areas of my life. Having relocated to Australia in March of 2023 I have been working on adding a whole new set of skills to being a Human Resources Practitioner in a new country. I am willing to learn and develop as I add value to my role. HR is in my blood, and I feel that although I am starting again, I have a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to add to the mix!
