As the Admissions Coordinator, Michelle is directly involved in the placement, respite, transition, and discharge of each child in the foster home program. Her relationships with each Division of Child Protection & Permanency (DCP&P) Local Office throughout New Jersey provide the opportunity to assist with placement of children throughout the state whom require specialized foster care. In January of 2014, Michelle was named Employee of the Year.Commendations include large sibling groups, medically fragile, and difficult to place children. In addition, Michelle has orchestrated interstate foster and adoption preparations and placements. Individualized rapport and collaboration with foster parents and staff members have positively assisted in the consistency of care and advocacy of children's reunification or permanency goal. As the admissions coordinator Michelle also supervises the admission case manager(s) and works closely with the homes and clinical teams. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* Coordination of Care* Family of Origin Outreach* Placement Disruption Review* Medical Insurance Enrollment* Foster Parent Stipend Allocation* DCP&P and Private Contract Monthly Billing* Active Committee Member to the Outcomes and Diversity Committees

In community initial face to face recruitment of new foster parents in community as well as pre-screening and procedural review and regulations. This position includes marketing, public relations and speaking engagements focused on changing the stigma of foster care to engage and appeal to potential new foster families. As a supervisor I am responsible for the continued development of recruiters as well as their assigned territory to continue to expand on service areas and foster homes throughout the state of New Jersey. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* Pre-screening of all new foster home applicants and their comprehensive applications; including state forms, criminally history, child abuse record and supporting documentation.* Retention event planning and coordination for present and pre-licensed foster families.
