CurrentServe as primary Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) Database Administrator for the Communicable and Environmental Diseases and Emergency Preparedness Division (CEDEP). Troubleshoot projects for end users across the division. Create, monitor, test, and maintain dynamic data pulls from the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) to REDCap. Develop Application Programming Interface (API) calls in SAS/R to export and import data to and from REDCap. Conduct onboarding of laboratory partners, including establishing transport, reviewing test messages, validating message batches (HL7), provide feedback to laboratory partners on message content and structure issues, and provide technical assistance or support. Utilize, test, and update message validation tools, including those in Rhapsody and SAS, according to the standard implementation guide and surveillance system requirements. Import messages into a Structured Query Language (SQL) database, maintain and develop the SAS code to evaluate those messages, and review and act on the error reports created by the SAS code. Write queries in SQL and SAS. Represent TDH and SSI on national calls with other jurisdictions and CDC; participated in writing grant progress reports and narratives, and support other SSI initiatives, such as public health surveillance and electronic case reporting. Contribute to disease surveillance and surge capacity across the state during infectious disease outbreak investigations.
