I was a high school English instructor with Austin Independent School District, primarily serving students at a Title I school. I designed and delivered high-impact lessons using current EdTech tools and data-driven best practices. Much of my day to day also involved developing LOs, activities, and assessments and using those to analyze learner data to identify gaps and strategize improvement. Notably, I successfully transitioned in-person course to a virtual eLearning platform within days. Throughout this transition, I prepared and presented trainings to a team of 5 instructors on technology integration and digital tools to increase learner engagement.

I wore many hats as an Academy Director, training facilitator, and classroom instructor at a specialized high school in the Long Beach Unified School District. At the top level, I collaborated closely with leadership in establishing and opening a completely new and innovative school site partnered with the local hospitality, tourism, and culinary arts industry. This involved developing policies and processes while tracking data and ensuring YOY improvement in academics and career technical education.As a leader on my campus, I created professional development and training presentations while considering cultural lenses, implementing DEI initiatives, and improving employee engagement. I also planned, coordinated, and executed 6 annual events for 200+ attendees per event, including vendor management, marketing promotions, and event itineraries for students to gain exposure to industries.The rest of my time was spent developing engaging lessons in the subjects of English language arts, rhetoric, psychology, and hospitality and tourism. EPIK (English Program in Korea) is a program to improve the English speaking abilities of students and teachers in South Korea, to foster cultural exchanges, and to reform English teaching methodologies. During my time with EPIK, I taught at three site locations that served socioeconomically disadvantaged learners. I collaborated with staff to deliver highly engaging lessons that led to an increase in English language acquisition while facilitating positive cultural exchange experiences.In my day to day, I developed interactive games and learning materials to supplement English curriculum. In my free time, I provided additional individual and group training for young and adult learnersI had the most fun designing and organizing 12 thematic multigrade English camps for over 100 learners which led to consistent participation growth by 20% each year. One of these camps (focused on exploring the arts) was given an award from the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education for its creativity and engaging learning activities.I was also invited by the city’s Office of Education out of over a hundred English teachers to serve as an official judge for the city’s English Speech Competition.
