I have worked as a business and estate planning attorney in Grand Rapids for 15 years. I have been a Member of McShane & Bowie, P.L.C. for six years and have participated on the firm’s management team for 1 year. My clients include small to midsize, family-owned and closely held businesses. I also work with a wide range of clients in matters of estate planning. One of my goals is to educate both current and prospective clients on the importance of business and estate planning. I have made numerous presentations to women’s groups, financial planners, accountants and other professional groups on topics which include: the importance of creating an estate plan, Medicaid planning (including the application process), cottage succession planning and asset protection. I sit on the board of directors for the Children’s Advocacy Center in Ottawa County, an organization dedicated to child abuse prevention and intervention. I am also a member of Inforum – a women’s economic group in West Michigan.
