About Michelle Carpenter

I am passionate about teaching students the value of marketing, public relations and social media marketing! I value hands-on engaging lectures whether I am teaching in the classroom, hybrid or online. During the past 14 years at ODU I have been presented multiple teaching awards including University Distinguished Teacher, Strome College of Business Faculty Teaching Awards, EV Williams Fellow for Excellence in Teaching and Service, 4 Shining Star Awards for outstanding teaching, and Most Inspirational Faculty Member. My dedication to students in the classroom is supported by more than 15 years in the industry instructing businesses and organizations across the Commonwealth on the importance of e-commerce and Internet marketing, leading a statewide e-commerce conference, serving as public relations lead for a local university and the director of a joint AM/FM radio news operation.Specialties: Public Relations and Marketing, Social Media Strategies and Trends, and effectively using social media to build a personal brand and business.
