Making daily staffing adjustments to accommodate changes in patient census and acuity. -Gives prior approval for overtime usage in the absence of the Unit Manager while remaining cognizant of the Nursing budget.-Address and resolves patient/family concerns and complaints.-Functions as the Administrator on Duty for all Hospital related activities during the evening and night shift, weekends, and holidays. Ensures backup AOD/Chief Nursing Officer remains apprised of pertinent issues related to hospital operations in a timely manner. -Ensures full compliance with requirements set forth by accrediting and regulatory agencies.Implements Chain of Command Policy as appropriate. Empowers staff to utilize Chain of Command Policy. -Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Interprets hospital policies to nursing staff and provides opportunities for education when necessary.-Provides for direct day-to-day evaluation of the quantitative services to patients and communicates results to the appropriate Nurse Manager.-Collaborates with members of the medical staff as well as other disciplines in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.-Ensures the implementation and evaluation of standards of nursing practice. -Participates in the Performance Improvement Program Activities.
