I am a very engaged hands-on anchor of a 5-hour weekday morning show (4AM-9AM). I also produce a weekly franchise (On Her Mind) highlighting issues that impact women. Since 2013, I have spearheaded our station's partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, on the Tulsa St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway campaign, producing weekly stories and coordinating all news coverage. Our partnership has helped generate more than $12M for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Solo Anchor of ABC17 News This Morning. I launched the morning show, as its first anchor, when it debuted in January 1998. I played a key role in producing the show, writing the bulk of the scripts, delivering the copy and ad-libbing network live shots and breaking news, when necessary. I independently produced and anchored the 2-hour newscast, as well, timing it from the set, on days when the morning show producer was unavailable. Additionally, I trained all new morning show producers, and was responsible for critiquing writing and offering feedback to new producers and reporters. I managed the newsroom overnight, monitoring scanner traffic, determining when it merits calling in a crew to cover breaking news. I also produced and anchored the local news cut-ins during Good Morning America. ABC 17 News This Morning was consistently the #1 local morning newscast both overall in the DMA and in key demographics, based on Nielsen ratings and Magid research. Outside of my commitment to the morning show, I was also the Director of Public Relations and led the "Spirit Committee," leading internal communications and organizing staff events. I organized station non-profit partnerships and community outreach efforts. I was actively involved as a board member for March of Dimes, and as our station's liaison for the Partners in Education program at Mill Creek Elementary School. I've volunteered as a Loaned Executive for the United Way and have served as a board member for the Central Missouri Food Bank. I was selected as one of Columbia's "40 Under 40" in 2005, and was chosen as "Best Morning News Anchor" by Inside Columbia magazine and was named the company's "Employee of the Year" in 2001.

I taught broadcast journalism courses emphasizing news gathering, writing, and on-air presentation. I monitored development of aspiring journalists and provided individual feedback on stories, facilitated students’ practicum experiences at KMIZ-TV.

I sold print advertising in Greater El Paso Area Apartment Guide and Las Cruces Apartment Guide. I cold-called and made appointments with potential new clients and serviced existing accounts. I wrote copy, took photographs, designed print advertising and designed layout for the monthly publication.

I produced the "Karen's Kids" segment, working with various non-profit organizations and the state to highlight children in need of adoptive homes. I coordinated weekly shoots, scheduled photographers, logged video and wrote segments to be voiced by anchor Karen Foss.

I spent three days weekly inside the newsroom, assisting photographers on various shoots. I wrote vo's and vosot's for the evening newscasts. I also spent time job shadowing the production crew in the creative services department, and assisting on commercial shoots.
