CurrentConfers with federal, state, and local school officials to develop curricula and establish guidelines for educational programs. Plans and coordinates educational policies for specific K-12 Social Studies. Plans, develops and implements professional development programs for in-service education of teaching personnel. Confers with social studies stakeholders and professional groups to disseminate and receive input on teaching methods. Reviews and evaluates curricula for use in public and charter schools and assists in supporting to local education support needs. Interprets state education codes and rules and regulations of State Board of Education in order to carry out state education initiatives. Conducts and participates in workshops, committees, and conferences designed to promote intellectual, social, and physical welfare of students. Researches and prepares recommendations on instructional materials, teaching aids, and related equipment. Prepares manuals, guidelines, and reports on state educational policies and practices for distribution to school districts. Advises school officials on implementation of state and federal programs and procedures. Conducts research into areas, such as teaching methods and techniques.
