As a member of the executive leadership team reporting to the CEO, I lead the global legal and government relations functions at the world’s largest peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace. - Scaled the department from serving as the only in-house attorney to the current 35+ person team. - Responsible for the company's legal portfolio, including product review, advertising, compliance, privacy, regulatory, insurance, commercial transactions, intellectual property, litigation, corporate, M&A, employment, and fundraising. - Oversee organic and acquisition-based new market expansions including Canada, the U.K., Australia, and France from both a legal and compliance perspective. - Collaborate closely with the trust & safety and PR teams on crisis avoidance and response. - Supervise our VP of government relations whose team works at the international, federal, state, and local level on regulatory and legislative initiatives, including passage of over 25 model bills that support growth of peer-to-peer carsharing.

Ensured StubHub's compliance with its payment institution license in Luxembourg.

- Oversaw a 17 person team of in-house attorneys and paralegals in the US, Europe, and Asia. - Led eBay Inc.'s North America litigation department which involved scaling the team from 6 attorneys and paralegals to over 20, advising eBay and its subsidiaries on products and operations to mitigate risk, managing portfolio of lawsuits for eBay, PayPal, BillMeLater, StubHub, and Skype, and administering a budget in the tens of millions.- Served as a member of PayPal's Compliance Council.- Served as a primary legal point of contact for the Corporate Crisis Management Program at eBay/PayPal and partnered with the responsible team to develop legal risk analysis, business continuity, communications strategy, and response plan.- Participated in Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence team to assess legal and compliance risks.- Contributed to the preparation of SEC and Board of Director materials.

- Practiced intellectual property and general business litigation.- Participated in two federal trade dress jury trials and one state breach of contract jury trial, two resulting in unanimous jury verdicts, with shared responsibility for conducting voir dire, examining witnesses at trial, drafting and arguing dispositive motions and motions in limine, and preparing percipient and expert witnesses for trial.
