Senior Advisor to the Interagency Council on Statistical Policy (ICSP)

Initiates and conducts analyses on employment information and data collected primarily for the American Time Use Survey. Prepares written products in final for Bureau of Labor Statistics press releases; pre-scheduled releases on labor force developments; technical reports; bulletins; analytical articles for other governmental and non-governmental publications; and responses for Congressional committees and the President's Council on Economic Advisors. Prepares major written economic analyses. Reviews various economic variables in data to isolate true economic changes from non-economic changes.

Prepare materials in support of presentations for the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and other BLS officials.Coordinate all logistics for BLS events, such as invited speakers and panel discussions.Gather and compile information and data analysis in response to requests from the Department of Labor, other Federal agencies, Congress, the news media, and other stakeholders.Review Congressional testimony, proposed legislation, correspondence, decision memos, and other items produced by the Department of Labor; distribute material to BLS offices for review; draft initial BLS response.Gather information from BLS offices and compile initial draft of periodic reports required by Department of Labor.Document standard operating procedures for activities in the Office of the Commissioner; provide guidance to future detailees.Participate in staff meetings with the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and others to discuss progress of ongoing activities and identify issues.Work on special projects to support the Office of the Commissioner.

The Consumer Expenditure Survey (CE) program consists of two surveys—the Quarterly Interview survey and the Diary survey—that provide information on the spending habits of American consumers, including data on their expenditures, income, and consumer unit (families and single consumers) characteristics.
