I am a specialist in addiction treatment for 15 years. I am particularly interested in facilitating full recovery for the whole person releasing the spiritual potential within. Being engaged in developing the field of addiction treatment in Ireland at this time is an exciting challenge. While we are still absorbed with emergency response to people in crisis due to the distress caused by addiction, we also support many to develop the resiliency necessary to sustain recovery and live with addiction constructively and get on with normal day to day living.I also deliver individual counselling to a small number of clients practicing in Cork City and Bandon. It is extremely delightful to support a client coming to terms with difficult circumstances and use adversity to ignite new growth and development in their personal life. In the last 3 years I have developed a small training practice specialising in Continued Professional Development workshops for counsellors. My current projects include workshops on ' Working with the Inner Critic' , 'Care Planning with SMART Goals' and ' The Spiritual Foundation for the Management of Addiction'.I find that the most thrilling challenge comes from working with people in crisis whose circumstances are inviting them to review their basic sense of themself and emerge with a new integration of abilities, talents and resources which allows greater satisfaction and contentment.
