I am a qualified engineer on a career path that spans the fields of engineering and military service. Armed with a Bachelor degree in Process and Chemical Engineering from University College Cork, I embraced the challenge of honing my leadership skills by joining the Irish Defence Forces, pursuing my aspiration to serve my country and enabling me to lead others in providing humanitarian assistance. My journey embodies a fusion of technical proficiency and a dedication to cultivating leadership qualities essential in both the corporate world and the military landscape.My journey in the Irish Defence Forces began with an 18 month long Army Engineering Cadetship in The Cadet School "the best leadership school in the country". I was commissioned into the Engineering Corp at the rank of Lieutnant, and was posted as a platoon commander where I worked to help the Defence Forces reach its sustainability goals. I am currently enrolled in a Masters degree in Military Engineering Management through a collaboration between the Defence Forces and the South East Technical University (SETU) as part of my Military Engineering Young Officers training course. This course involves the learning and application of both theoretical & practical knowledge, and engineering skills in the fields of Military Engineering and Engineering Management.
