SSEEO is an advocacy, resouce and educational organization for stroke survivors and caregivers. We are a statewide organization in Illinois and the only one of its kind in the US. We try to bring stroke survivors and caregivers together to make positive changes for stroke stakeholders through advocacy, education and friendship. We have 300 members throughout the state of Illinois. Our mission statement is: To provide a common voice for stroke survivors and the people in their lives, and our motto is: Listen & Support, Educate & Learn, Advocate & Change.

Help stroke survivors improve their quality of life through Conference Call Support Groups, Resource information, Advocacy. Lead in the development of Fundraising through hospital and corporate means.

Participated in many public speaking engagements designed to develop membership for SSEEO in many areas of Illinois. Participated in lobbying for the passage of new Primary Stroke Center legislation over the past two years. Meet with state legislators to keep them abreast of the legislative needs of stroke survivors in Illinois.

Responsible for assisting the pharmacist with preparing prescriptions, Assist customers with locating products on the shelves and cashing them out at the register. Check in the daily pharmaceutical order when received and place the items on the pharmacy shelves. Resolve insurance issues for customers regarding their prescriptions. Contact doctors' offices for prescription refills as necessary.

Community Re-entry Program; Assisted the Community Re-entry personnel with light office duties including making copies, filing, updating file cabinets and other duties as assigned. Met with other stroke survivors to talk about issues they may be having to get another survivors opinion and answered their questions as best I could.

First started at Biosite operating the vivarium,. After 1 year, I was promoted to working in the Research Lab, producing monoclonal antibodies, purifying antibodies, doing research. After 4 years in the Research side of Biosite, I transferred to the Manufacturing side into Quality Control, where I performed quality testing on all portions of product including raw materials, manufactured materials and finished products.

Responsible for the inspection of raw materials, the performance of manufacturing in-process testing finished product testing and inspection of various diagnostics kits produced by Biosite.

Responsible for maintaining the animal quarters and laboratory animals used to develop antibodies for products being developed. Performed many laboratory tests to help with the development of drug detection test kits. Purified antibodies for use in drug detection test kits using both ion exchange and liquid chromatography. Served as departmental safety officer.

Assisted the veterinarian with all areas of treatment for patients. Administered injections, processed laboratory tests for illness diagnosis, shot and processed radiographs, prepared patients for surgery, developed skills in holistic veterinary care to assist the veterinarian including making homeopathic remedies as ordered by the veterinarian. Responsible for client communication and education. Scheduled patient appointments and monitored all activity at the reception desk.

Various Companies in Minnesota and CaliforniaOrganized an employee-training program consisting of general computer system use and developed user-training manuals for general use and computer system start-up for other computer operators, provided support for user personnel.
