Lead the strategic positioning of ARPEL in the Upstream market, addressing emerging issues of high impact for the industry, to promote the growth and competitiveness of the business in the region. Implement the strategy of the Relationship with external Stakeholders with a focus on the interaction with national governments and intergovernmental agencies, as well as with national and international industry associations. Identify the risks and opportunities that support ARPEL mission to foster operational excellence, sustainable management and energy transitions of the Latin American and Caribbean oil and gas industry by engaging with key stakeholders.

Lead the strategic positioning of ARPEL to promote the growth and competitiveness of the business in the region and the Relationship with external Stakeholders identifyng the risks and opportunities that support ARPEL mission to foster operational excellence, sustainable management and energy transitions of the Latin American and Caribbean oil and gas industry .

Promote the growth and competitiveness of the upstream business in the region as well as the continuous operational and management improvement among member companies. Lead the strategic positioning of the Association in the Upstream market, in aspects such as the development of new activities and high added value solutions, the expansion of the membership and dynamics of interaction with stakeholders, including technical advocacy, anticipating emerging high-impact issues for the industry. Provide advice and represent the Association in matters related to Upstream.

Responsible for sustainability projects and activities in Latin America and the Caribbean related to management on: environment, health and safety; corporate social responsibility and climate change and energy efficiency. Experience in projects related to Oil Spill Contingency Planning, Atmospheric Emissions, Refining and Fuels, Pipelines and Terminals, Exploration and Production, Climate Change vis-á-vis Clean Development Mechanism and Carbon Markets, Energy Efficiency, Occupational Health and Safety, Relations with Indigenous Peoples, Environmental Training and Guidelines, Environmental Costs Assessment and Environmental Audits

Lead the strategy, together with other influential and knowledgeable members of the Board that represent various stakeholder interests, of Equitable Origin’s mission to support the life plans of local people, protect the environment and biodiversity affected by oil and gas exploration and production -and other energy generation activities- through an independent, stakeholder-negotiated, market-driven certification system that distinguishes and rewards operators for outstanding social, environmental and safety performance.

The Board is composed of influential and knowledgeable members representing various stakeholder interests who believe in Equitable Origin’s mission to protect people, the environment, and biodiversity affected by oil and gas exploration and production through an independent, stakeholder-negotiated, market-driven certification system that distinguishes and rewards operators for outstanding social, environmental and safety performance.
