For aspirant civil engineers like me, the famed Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, a pioneering institution for civil engineering in India, offered a strong foundation. I was prepared for a successful career in the construction sector thanks to the principles I learned throughout my 4 years of undergraduate study in solid mechanics, structural analysis, and the design of concrete and steel structures.Throughout my bachelor's degree internships, I had the opportunity to work on various civil engineering projects. My experiences include:• Accelerating concrete's early strength through practical methods.• Designing a sewage receiving chamber based on principles of structural and foundation engineering.• Conducting seismic analysis on a liquid storage tank using STAAD Pro (research internship at IIT Delhi).• For my final bachelor's project, conducted the structural design and analysis of an airport terminal building.After being recruited by vConstruct, one of the most skilled BIM firms in India and a division of DPR construction, my interest as a BIM enthusiast developed. I functioned there for a little over 3 years and developed expertise in a variety of BIM coordination areas, including clash detection, 3D modeling, and model-based coordination of numerous projects ranging in size from the small scale of $20M USD to the big scale of $250M USD. As a BIM coordinator, I've come to appreciate the value of clear communication, teamwork, and attention to detail. These qualities have enabled me to perform well in my profession, complete projects efficiently, and earn the title of Senior VDC Engineer at the enterprise.Currently, at the University of Calgary, I'm pursuing my master's in civil engineering with a specialization in project management.
