• Exposed to imaging and non-imaging optical design whilst learning how to integrate and build systems directly in 3D-CAD. Gained a firm grasp of what can and can't be done with plastics and how to take products through.

Joined Bookham, a leading edge Optical Communications company, as a Senior Industrial Engineer and lead a team of seven Engineers responsible for transferring an Array Waveguided grating (AWG) product from the Pilot line into production. I also lead a separate cross-disciplinary team responsible for Yield Improvement.

FFEI developed imaging engines for the pre-press plate industry. I was responsible for designing, developing and testing the optics for an innovative, high speed, fully automatic platesetter using multi-beam laser technology. I designed and built the first bench-top system and carried this through the development phase and into production where I provided.

Joined Kodak as a Senior Scientist after having gained my MSc in Applied Optics from Imperial College. Initially, I designed and developed a pH sensor for monitoring mini-lab developing solution. Two years later, I transferred into an Ion Measurement team. Finally, I transferred into a small team where I designed and built specialised LED based.

Gained a broad experience of electro-optics and laser technologies over a four-year period. During this time I studied part-time for my Master of Science.
