The experiment includes identifying chemical species and metering deposition vapors utilizing UV absorption spectroscopy.Built a complex fully heated vacuum system to sublimate and transfer metal vapors. Developed a control and monitoring system for independent PID controlled heaters, mass flow contollers, pressure transducers and thermocouples. Created LabView code that interfaces with commercial software (Watlow EZZone) to control and monitor system parameters.

Researched and developed an underground thermal energy storage (UTES) system to supply cooling capacity to commercial buildings. Designed and installed a prototype UTES system on the campus of the University of Utah at the Sill Center.Designed programmable logical controller (PLC) for the UTES temperature measurement system using Arduino micro controllers.Analyzed trend data to determine the cooling capacity of the UTES system.Advanced and improved a graphical user interface simulation software package AA-CAES Simulator developed during graduate work. Performed a computational simulation study using AA-CAES Simulator.Analyzed the feasibility of installing an advanced adiabatic compressed air energy storage system in an underground salt cavern in Utah.

Conducted energy assessments to reduce client's compressed air, electrical and gas usage. Studies included energy assessments of industrial manufacturing processes, HVAC control systems in commercial buildings and energy star certification studies. Improved process efficiency by developing energy assessment tools, using Excel spreadsheets, to demonstrate savings, anomalies, and trends in utility data.Reduced rework, resulting from lost data, by developing a company wide information management system, which included the development of an SQL database. Designed components, processes and quality assurance checks and balances for the production of jet engine propulsion systems for private airplanes. Designed components using the computer aided drawing software ProE.Tested machined parts for flaws and accuracy using airflow test fixtures. Using mechanical aptitude, performed complete maintenance of diesel engine generators, mobile HVAC units, and electrical load banks.
