Mike is Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Verizon Business Markets, responsible for legal support for Verizon's medium business and indirect channel sales. Prior to this position, Mike held various positions in the Verizon and Verizon Wireless legal departments in both New Jersey and Chicago, supporting mobile commerce, advertising initiatives, Big Data, mobile payments, eCommerce, sales and marketing, field operations and litigation. He has negotiated and drafted agreements with strategic partners, suppliers, distributors and customers, provided counsel and training to client groups on topics including compliance, antitrust, contracting and consumer law; reviewed advertising, marketing collateral, sales and customer service procedures and has represented Verizon in significant litigation, arbitration, mediation and disputes with regulators, customers, suppliers, distributors and partners, across a wide range of subject matter, including class action and government enforcement actions, contract, fraud, consumer protection, privacy, antitrust and bankruptcy. He has also advocated on behalf of the company in front of federal and state legislators, attorneys general and regulators. Prior to joining Verizon Wireless, Mike was associated with and then a partner in the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis, LLP in Chicago, where his practice was focused on commercial litigation.
