The Long Island Woodworkers are a volunteer organization comprised of nearly 300 professional and hobbyist woodworkers that holds informative monthly meetings every 1st Wednesday of each month at the historic Frank Brush Barn in Smithtown, NY.Within are many Special Interest Groups (SIG's) that are splinter groups (pun intended) that meet at various times of the month to focus on various aspects of woodworking such as turning, scrollwork, cabinetry and furniture, carving, and toy-making for charitable causes.The LIW also produces an annual Show and Exhibition currently held at the historic Old Bethpage Village Restoration in September.For more information, visit www.liwoodworkers.org

It was here that I learned my craft from mentor and master craftsman Don Medina, making museum-quality Butsudans (Buddhist altars). After Don left NY, I continued making commissioned studio furniture. To establish my name, the business eventually transitioned as Daum Fine Woodworking and Design, Inc.
