Monitored pending legislation related to issue portfolio for the Member of Congress; prepared legislative and support materials for bill and amendment introduction; worked with House and Senate Committees to get legislation passed into law to address the threat of vehicular terrorism and to rename a Post Office building in the district; worked within the House of Representatives to have multiple bills favorably reported out of Committees and passed on the House Floor; prepared questions and opening statements for hearings and legislative mark ups before the Subcommittees on Energy and Consumer Protection and Commerce within the Energy and Commerce Committee; planned multiple conference calls between Members of Congress and various stakeholder groups; planned multiple physician and bankers round-table events in the district; helped organize resource tables for two events highlighting the opioid epidemic in Ohio; prepared and drafted letters to government officials and constituent groups; drafted press releases pertaining to important legislation and events that fall within the issue portfolio; prepared vote recommendations on pertinent legislation; developed legislative strategies to help the Member better represent his constituents; met with constituent groups and interested parties on various policy issues of concern; attended briefings and staff tours.Issue portfolio included: Energy, Environment, Consumer Protection and Commerce, Health Care, Financial Services, Foreign Affairs, Defense and Military, Veterans Affairs, Homeland Security, Agriculture, Immigration, Labor, Science & Technology, Second Amendment, Social Security & Pensions, Sportsman's Issues, Taxes, Transportation, and U.S. Postal Service.
