I'm a passionate and driven physicist who recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Honours Physics from the University of Waterloo, with experience in both academic research and applied work in optics and photonics. Recently, I've had the opportunity to work under Nobel Laureate Dr. Donna Strickland and Professor Federico Capasso, where I honed my expertise in nonlinear optical materials, metasurfaces, and wavefront engineering. During these internships, I built optical setups, simulated advanced optical structures using FDTD methods, and contributed to research pushing the boundaries of photonics. My professional experience extends beyond research. I have hands-on industry experience as an Optics Technician with P&P Optica, where I designed optical assembly processes and supervised quality assurance for smart imaging systems. My work at Teledyne DALSA as a 2D Image Sensor Technician enhanced my skills in quality testing, automation, and algorithm development. I've also developed a solid foundation in machining, programming (MATLAB, Python), and optical simulations.Beyond my technical skills, I thrive in leadership and teamwork. As a varsity rower, I led community initiatives, and I’ve also taken on roles as an undergraduate representative and team lead for my university's Hyperloop team. I look forward to applying my skills and experience in a role that bridges cutting-edge research and industry applications in optics and photonics.
