•Promoted to Production Manager in less than 2 years for a fast-paced, high-volume wholesale commercial printing operation.•Managed a production team of 17 people responsible for maintenance and operation of large/small equipment, graphic design department, film processing department, bindery department, shipping/receiving and deliveries.•Maintained schedule of all jobs, tracked progress through production to ensure customer deadlines are met.•Managed proper storage/disposal of supplies and hazardous chemicals to comply with OSHA and fire regulations.•Interfaced with vendors to acquire new equipment (machinery), parts and supplies (chemicals, paper, ink, film, plates). Maintained relationships with vendors to ensure best possible pricing.•Negotiated pricing on all new equipment, all supplies and all service/maintenance contracts, including finding a new chemical disposal service that better met the needs of a growing business.•Handled customer requests, problems and complaints. Follow-up on leads and submitted proposals/estimates.•Generate Work Orders – write up jobs per customer specifications for the production team to run.•Entered specifications for customer’s jobs into database using PrintSmith software, which was used to generate job tickets, and used to track customer account histories including purchase history and previous pricing.•Converted jobs specifications into a production table by calculating costs (labor, consumables and buyouts) and adding levels of profit.
