Currently serving as NASA Technical Fellow for Mechanical Systems assigned to NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) as part of the Senior Leadership Team with the NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC). My duty station is at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.

Served as Senior Tribologist in the Materials Branch (Code 541) of the Mechanical Systems Division of the Applied Engineering and Technology Directorate at NASA GSFC, advising on Tribology and lubrication of mechanical systems and moving mechanical assemblies (MMAs).Project involvement at NASA GSFC included, but was not limited to CALIPSO (SADA), SAM (WRP, SMS), GOES (N and R), NPP (ATMS, MSA), POES (AMSU), GPM (HGAS, SADA) , HST (ELC, ESP3, HGA), GLORY (APS, TIM, SADA), SDO (SADA, ECRA) GLAST (RWA), JWST (SMMA, PMSA). Activities included consulting on lubrication life-testing and Tribology related issues, including troubleshooting and serving as Subject Matter Expert (SME) attending reviews on MMAs and instruments as instructed by Chief Engineer NASA GSFC, and Chief Engineer NESC (NASA GSFC) working topics of interest.Collaboration across NASA including consulting and advising on lubricated MMAs at NASA JSC, and NASA MSFC.

Served as a subject matter expert and independent consultant to the NESC under contract under the direction of team lead Dr. Paul Munafo advising in the areas of Tribology and Lubrication for the NESC "Rudder Speed Brake Actuator Braycote Grease Independent Technical Assessment." Performed thermal gravimetric analysis of Braycote 601 Grease leading to lifetime predictions demonstrating that the grease present in spare RSBs in storage was still serviceable supporting the eventual return to flight of OV-103.

Directed new product development including the evaluation and qualification of lubricants intended for use in spacecraft and associated mechanisms including, but not limited to, aerospace bearing and gearing applications, reaction wheels, gyroscopes, potentiometers, deployment and scanning mechanisms,, motors and actuatorsServed as senior technical resource to executive management, operations, and regional engineering managers.

Managed R&D staff performing testing and product qualification in support of key industrial accounts and worked closely with regional engineering managers and R&D staff engaged in product development.

Assisted Technical Director with R&D project management, materials and qualification testing, customer support, and the generation of technical reports.

Research included the synthesis and characterization of organopalladium "pincer" complexes. Determined the structure, by x-ray crystallography, of di-mu-chloro-(4,5-dimethoxy-N,N-dimethylbenzylamine)-2-C,N)-dipalladium(II). Synthesized and characterized chloro-(isopthalyldioxime)-2-C,N,N-palladium(II) and chloro-(alpha,alpha-bis-dimethylamino-m-xylene)-2C,N,N-palladium(II).

Conducted independent research with undergraduates. Taught undergraduate courses in Introductory Chemistry and Organic Chemistry lectures and labs. Participated in a minority mentorship program. Served on various academic committees.
